The village Jabri is located in Karnah block in J&K, over 8,000 ft above mean sea level in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The village has about 300 unelectrified households. The employment and entrepreneurial activities are close to zero, primarily subsistence agriculture and handicraft are performed. The proposed pilot project combines a novel water-wheel technology and solar PV to develop a hybrid electricity supply system in the remote community. It also supports local enterprises, school and helps in capacity building.
