Bamboo-Polyhouse is an alternative to the GI polyhouse, which facilitates cultivation of nutritious vegetables year-round. There is a need for protected cultivation when heavy monsoon and extreme summer restrict the farmers from getting year-round production to suffice family Nutrition + marketable surplus. This project will help technology dissemination in validating the use by small-farmers. The proposed extended testing trails will help establish making this as a “robust solution” in abating malnutrition as well as livelihood opting as a Secondary Source of assured income. Two such pilot structures of bamboo-polyhouse were constructed in Jawhar and Vikramgad blocks of Palghar district in March 2021 and results on farmers’ plot are encouraging.
